Who We Are

Dar-Bem Medical Centre, originally established as Dar-Bem Clinic in 1980, was founded by Dr. Francis Teye Darkor, a physician specialist, and Dr. Paul Kojo Bempong, a principal medical officer. The name “Dar-Bem” is derived from the first three letters of the surnames Darkor and Bempong.

Initially, the clinic operated on the first floor of a rented building adjacent to Ghana Commercial Bank and the Post Office at the main Ashaiman station. At its inception, the clinic employed a staff of eight individuals, comprising two medical officers, two nurses, a dispensary assistant, an accounts clerk, and an orderly. Through years of diligence, commitment, and exemplary client care, Dar-Bem emerged as one of the most esteemed private clinics in Ashaiman.

Subsequently, the clinic relocated to its current permanent facility, allowing for the expansion of its services and the rebranding to Dar-Bem Medical Centre. Presently, Dar-Bem Medical Centre features a capacity of seventy (70) beds and is supported by a team of thirty-five (35) nurses, including midwives. The medical staff includes four (4) medical officers, three (3) specialists, four (4) physician assistants, one (1) pharmacist, and seven (7) dispensary assistants. Additionally, the Centre employs biomedical scientists, three (3) laboratory technicians, a dietitian, a physiotherapist, and a variety of administrative personnel, including a finance manager, two (2) accounts clerks, an administrator, and claims officers.
